An old abandoned countryhouse survived on a small hill in the middle of a council housing district built between 1976 and 1984. The district was built in the south country of Rome and its project was done by architect Pietro Barucci.
The tower was built in 1983 and it’s height is 178 mt. In the foreground can bee seen the G.R.A., the huge ring-shaped higway sorrounding the town of Rome and the new railway bridge crossing it. The bridge is currently (2016) under construction.
Every day, coming back home from the office, I see this old country house. It was on a green hill but, since some years, a brand new district of Rome is born all around it.
Now it’s surrounded by huge modern buildings and parkings and streets are few meters from it. I do not know why it has not been teared down, but probably it will happen soon.
I love to think that he will survive to the new town.
